No modification to the servo is needed.
It was designed to work with any analog servos.
It plugs into your receiver and you plug the servo into the SSV5.
It can be used sucessfully for any PAN and TILT function where more servo travel is needed.
It is the best solution for the onboard camera pan and tilt system.
It not only increases the travel, it also smooths the steps from one end to the other giving a much linear movement.
The SSV5 comes with a 15cm cable.
