The "fan" antenna is a compromise of the turbine. Easier to build, offering is less limited on this one. When designing it, the goal was to have a minimal number of blades, yet retain maximum multipath rejection on all directions and an excellent SWR match. Works great as a transmitter or receiver antenna.
