The Focke-Wulf FW 190 was a German Second World War single-seat, single-engine fighter aircraft designed in the late 1930s. Powered by a radial engine, the 190 had ample power and was able to lift larger loads than its well-known counterpart, the Messerschmitt Bf 109. The 190 was used by the Luftwaffe in a wide variety of roles, including day fighter, fighter-bomber, ground-attack aircraft and, to a lesser degree, night fighter.
This FW 190 is offered at a low price courtesy of the less than scale paintwork, however, any experienced modeler could remedy this pretty quickly and end up with a nice size FW 190 for very little money!
The fuselage and cowl are glass fiber construction while the flying surfaces are balsa/ply. The model also features flaps and is retract ready. Although designed for glow, this model could easily accept a 20cc~26cc gas engine courtesy of the large cowl. A comprehensive hardware kit is supplied, which includes fixed landing gear and a vac formed dummy radial.
