HobbyKing™ Blanik L-13 Scale Glider EPO 2300mm (PNF)

around 1956, and is the most numerous and widely used glider in the world. The L-13 was developed as a practical glider suitable for basic as well as aerobatic instruction and cross-country training. This design concept was combined with true and tested technology: metal construction,, Wingspan:, Length:, Weight:, Servo:, :, Motor:, 6 Channel Transmitter and Receiver,

The L-13 Blaník is a two seat training glider that was designed by
of
laminar profiles and many standard-issue components of the
.
The Blaník entered production in 1958 and quickly gained popularity as an inexpensive, rugged and durable type, which was easy to fly and operate. In the cross-country role the Blaník achieved many two-seater world distance records during the 1960s in spite of having only fair performance. It was widely adopted in the
and was exported in large numbers to Western Europe and North America, even being used by the US Air Force Academy.
The HobbyKing™ Blanik L-13 lives up to its namesake of being a easy to fly glider, with a low landing speed, and good aerobatic performance. This plug and fly model comes with a brushless electric motor and folding propeller pre-installed, however it also includes a molded foam nose piece which accurately matches the scale profile for those wanting to fly it as a pure glider.
The airframe of the Blanik is all molded EPO construction making it quite strong, and resiliant. Compared to many scale gliders the Blanik has large control surfaces which makes it highly aerobatic, and very easy to control. Landing can really be slowed down by deploying the wing flaps for precision landing on the monowheel. Each of the two large wing panels features rugged carbon spars the full length of the wing, while a very long wing joiner piece holds them together. The wings flex much like you would expect from a large glider, though are quite strong. The front cockpit area is large so it can accept a wide variety of battery sizes depending on what configuration you want to run.
As a slope model it works very well, tearing it up with the best of the moldies, but without the moldie price tag. Since the Blanik is all bolt together construction and arrives plug and fly configuration, you can be ready to go in about 30~45 minutes. As a power model it has performance to spare. Power up, climb to altitude and the propeller folds back in just a matter of seconds. The Blanik would make a great ALES model even.
We have had a lot of fun with this model, and so will you. Its scale looks with sporty performance at a great price.
