The Saab Draken was a remarkable aircraft that was designed as a high speed interceptor in the early days of the Cold War, the origins of the J-35 can be traced back to the early 1950's, which bearing in mind it's unique double-delta wing and supersonic performance, makes the Draken extremely advanced for it's time. Other unique features of the J-35 were it's ability to operate off ordinary roads instead of large airfields and it's deliberatley designed operational simplicity which allowed ground crews with minimal training to keep the aircraft at readiness day and night. The Draken was also an export success and this fantastic looking model is in the display colours of the Austrian Air Force.
This nicely finished kit has a low parts count courtesy of the basic shape of the Draken, with only 2 outer wings and a vertical stabilizer to attach, it is not the most complicated composite jet to build by a long way! Controls are of course elevon and rudder, so the servo count is also low, a comprehensive hardware kit is included, ...
