eRC Quad Copter
,
Just add your receiver, and enjoy quad copter fun
This eRC Limited Edition Quad Copter comes with nearly everything you need to get flying. Hobby Lobby's Neal Davis and Jason Cole have put something truly unique together for you.
We start with the frame. We chose the xRotor Sport frame from BlueSkyRC because it is a proven, well-built, popular frame. We provide pre-cut 10mm carbon fiber square tubes to use for the arms and all the mounting screws for the motors, arms, and flight board. The only thing you'll need to add is Velcro for the battery mounting.
We are using our eRC 450 brushless motors. These are high-quality, powerful outrunner motors that carry a 1-year warranty. The motors come with all mounting hardware and are pre-connected for the speed controllers. We provide 2 tractor and 2 pusher 10x4.7 APC slowflyer props.
We chose our eRC 25A brushless speed controllers because they are high-quality, carry a 1-year warranty, and work great in multi rotor helicopters. We've done all the hard work for you too. These ESC's are pre-bundled. We soldered the power leads together and attached a main power lead with a Deans ultra connector on it. Then we pre-programmed the ESC's for use in quad copters. You'll simply need to connect them to the motors and test for direction. Simple.
For the flight battery, we're using our PowerWing 3S 2100mAH 20C Lipo. It comes with a Deans Plug already connected and has ample juice to supply all four motors. Flight times will be around 10-15 minutes depending on how you fly it.
Now let's talk flight boards. This is the brains of the quad. Ready to fly flight boards are hard to come by, so we chose to build them for you. We used Bob's Simple Shield for the base, and then hand soldered an Arduino Pro Mini board, a Wii Motion Plus Gyro board, and all the header pins. That's a lot of tiny solder joints! We then pre-loaded the Multi Wii code, set it up and flight tested the boards. We also made up all the receiver leads you'll need to connect the flight board to your receiver. These are setup and tuned for sport flying. If you want to make changes to the setup, you can read up on how to do that at www.multiwiicopter.com but to get up and flying, you'll only need to install the board.
So when you buy this quad copter, you're getting specially made parts, pre-setup with no soldering to do and no programming. You'll just need to do the final assembly and we've even created assembly videos to walk you through the assembly steps. All you need to provide is a 4 or more channel receiver, some Velcro to attach the battery, and some CA glue for the frame. We've made it super easy to get up and flying and we hope you'll enjoy our limited edition eRC Quad Copter. Get them while they last!
