Introduction:, With 6 months development, improvement and test, the new battery voltage logger and health analyzer has been released to the market. The R1 is not only an accurate 6S battery voltage cell meter, but also integrated with battery health analysis function. So it's really a necessity to the model pilots., Specification:, , Feature:, Small, light and ultra-portable with only 5mm thickness, including LCD screen., Remarks and attentions:, -Due to the battery pack loading drop, to avoid the voltage measurement difference error, make sure the battery pack is disconnected at least 30 seconds., How to Use:, , 1. Normal battery voltage check:, Connect the battery to the R1 after the battery is unloaded for at least 30 seconds. To connect the battery balance plug to the R1, always use the pin 1 on the R1, and make sure the negative pin of the battery balance plug is connected to the R1 pin 1. For example: if a 3S Li-Po pack need to be measured, connect the battery to R1 1~4 pin, and the negative pin on the balance plug is connected to pin 1; If a 5S battery pack, then connect the battery to pin 1~6, and the negative balance plug still to pin 1. Now you can read voltage value on the display., 2. Lowest voltage recording:, The lowest voltage recoding function is designed for the purpose of logging the lowest voltage value when the battery is loaded during the flight, then it's possible for the pilots to understand how their battery works., Activate the function:, [A]. Connect with the battery, after the R1 is initialized, press ¡§A¡¨ button till the ¡§hold¡¨ appears on the bottom-right on the screen, which means the lowest voltage capturing (LVC) mode is enabled., Connect the R1 with battery, and enter health analysis function. Then it indicates the following:, M,
User's manual
Voltage value and capacity display. Up to 6 cells voltage display of single cell and total pack +/- 0.01V(10mv) display resolution and +/-2% accuracy.
Battery analysis function. Score your battery if the cells balance well or not. Direct indicate of cell capacity and total pack capacity.
In-flight battery discharge curve logger.
Record the lowest voltage of the battery during the flight
Voltage measurement trimming.
Reverse connection protection.
-Data display refresh rate may drop in low temperature environment. This is normal because of the LCD panel characteristics.
-Although the R1 is a device with very low power consumption, make sure disconnect the battery after its use.
-There are ¡§A¡¨ and ¡§B¡¨ button on the product.
-The R1 is for LiFePO4 and lithium polymer battery only.
[B]. Keep connecting the R1 with the battery, then it records the lowest voltage of the battery.
[C]. If not disconnect the R1 with the battery, the single cell voltage and total pack voltage on the screen are the lowest voltage.
[D]. To exit LVC mode and return to normal voltage display, please press ¡§A¡¨ button 1 second.
Pressing ¡§B¡¨ button 1 second is to enter next function.
Battery Health Analyzer Function.
Normally, if the score above 90, the cell voltage balance is good, if the score below 80, the battery is becoming unbalance, below 70, some of the cells has been damaged, you have to change it.
We highly suggest the battery pack should be fully charged or at least 90% capacity before you use it on your models.
* Because the characteristic of the LiFePO4 and lithium polymer battery are different, please make sure choose the correct battery type.
* The quality of the battery from different manufacturer is different, so sometimes the capacity display has some differences.
* Pressing ¡§B¡¨ button 1 second is to enter next function.¡C
Battery Discharge Voltage Curve Logger
The function is to record the battery discharge voltage and displayed as a curve graph.
1. Max 1080 seconds and min 120 seconds discharge voltage logging.
2. The A B C lines help you to understand how your battery discharge with load.
battery type is lithium polymer battery,
*¡§FE¡¨ LiFePO4 battery ¡§LI¡¨ lithium polymer battery
CYCLE1SEC means on the discharge voltage curve, 1 second is the base line value to record the voltage drop. *30 *60 *90S indicate the multiple time of base line value.
A B C is the battery voltage comparison line. If your battery type setting is lithium polymer battery, then line A shows the voltage = cells number ¡Ñ 4.0V. Line B = cell number ¡Ñ3.6V. Line C is cell number ¡Ñ3.2V. If battery type is LiFePO4, then line A voltage = cells¡Ñ3.7V, line B=cells¡Ñ3.3V, line C=cells¡Ñ3.0V
Please check the above graph, it's the discharge voltage curve of a 3S battery. We can see the total voltage is 11.22V when battery unloaded, and the base line value is 1 second, so the graph shows 120 seconds discharge voltage curve. At 30 seconds, voltage is about 10.80V, 60 seconds is about 10.0V.
And also beside the curve, there is a beeline, it's low voltage warning line. When curve line goes below the beeline, it indicates your battery is overload.
If you want to record new voltage curve graph, press ¡§A¡¨ button or disconnect with battery to refresh.
* Because sometimes the voltage of lipo battery single cell will be below 2.9V and LiFePO4 battery single cell below 2.5V when with big load, it may cause R1 lack of power. So we suggest using at least 3S lipo battery and 4S LiFePO4 battery when using R1for big load.
Pressing A and B button at one time, then connect R1 with battery, release the two buttons.
Button A + and B - are parameter adjustments, pressing them simultaneously is save the setting and go to next setting.
Please check the right picture 1, it's the setting of base line value of discharge curve graph, A is to add the number. B is reduce number, if you submit the settings, press A and B at one time to save them and go to next option.
Please check picture 2, it's battery type option.
Please check picture 3, it's voltage measurement trimming mode. You can use the two buttons to adjust the reading of the highlighted volatge value for battery cells, pressing A is to increase the value, and press B to decrease the value. For example the displayed in picture 3 is adjusting voltage of the first cell, which is connected to pin 1 and pin 2. You can press A to increase 36894(means 3.6894V) to 36895, or press B to decrease 36894 to 36893.
Press A and B simultaneously to jump to the next voltage reading, which is connected between pin2 and 3.
* It is suggested that the users should get a multi-meter before adjusting the voltage value.
* It is suggested to use a 6S battery for voltage measurement trimming.
