Manufacture:, Aerial Video Systems, Important: To ensure RF performance do NOT add paint or coat the element lobes (leave the factory applied finish as-is). The elements should not be allowed to rest against any structures. Do not bend or deform the elements., NOTE: Some FPV model installations may need an extension to ensure the antenna is away from nearby surfaces.,
The 5.8GHz Cloverleaf antenna is circularly polarized (RHCP) and designed for those applications that need higher performance than provided by common whip antennas. It is ideal for short to medium range wireless video transmitters and other mobile ham radio applications. Best of all, the compact size makes it well suited for FPV installations; That's a standard paper clip in the photo below, which easily shows the small size.
The Cloverleaf antenna is well suited for 5.8GHz FPV transmitters.
It is a lightweight 3-lobe design that is easily mounted on small hobby model aircraft and robots. For receiver installations we recommend the Skew-Planar Wheel antenna which is a similar looking 4-lobe design. If you want a complete Tx / Rx set then you should purchase the
BlueBeam Antenna System
because it provides this antenna for the Tx and the matching Skew-Planar Wheel for the Rx. We also offer a higher gain
circular polarized +5dBi patch antenna
that works great with the Cloverleaf (our favorite combination).
The Cloverleaf's RF connector is a standard SMA plug and it may be used with a short extension (not included). To use it with a RP-SMA connector please use our
#SMA-015
adapter (sold separately).
