Manufacture:, Aerial Video Systems, Important: To ensure RF performance do NOT add paint or coat the element lobes (leave the factory applied finish as-is). The elements should not be allowed to rest against any structures. Do not bend or deform the elements., NOTE: Some installations will need a coax extension cable to ensure the antenna is away from nearby surfaces.,
The 5.8GHz Skew-Planar Wheel antenna is circularly polarized (RHCP) and designed for those applications that need higher performance than provided by common whip antennas. It is a very compact antenna; That's a standard paper clip in the photo below (bottom of page), which easily shows the small size.
It is mostly known by FPV hobbyists as a receiver antenna. However, it can also be used on a 5.8GHz transmitter with exceptional results. Just remember that both antennas used in your system must be RHCP circular polarized designs to achieve the best results.
The Skew-Planar Wheel antenna is a 4-lobe design that has very good multipath rejection performance. If you want a complete Tx / Rx set then be sure to check out the
BlueBeam Antenna System
because it provides this antenna for the Rx and the matching Cloverleaf antenna for the Tx.
The antenna's RF connector is a standard SMA plug and it may be used with a short extension (not included). To use it with a RP-SMA connector please use our
#SMA-015
adapter (sold separately).
